Policosanol is a natural mixture of primary aliphatic alcohols, mainly extracted from sugar cane, which contribute to a correct cholesterol and triglyceride balance.

Fermented red rice is obtained from the fermentation of common cooking rice by a special yeast called Monascus purpureus or red yeast.
